excipients: preservative, quinosol 0.00001 g/ml or 0.001% of the volume of liquid phage.
Description:
Transparent yellow liquid of varying intensity.
Therapeutic class:
Staphylococcal Bacteriophage is an immunobiological drug, a specific virus that lyses Staphylococcus aureus microbes.
ATX code. V03A
Pharmacological properties:
Staphylococcal Bacteriophage is a drug that has a specific bactericidal effect against strains of staphylococci that are most significant in the etiology of purulent and inflammatory diseases. The bacteriophage specifically lyses Staphylococcus bacteria. Phage particles attach to the membrane of sensitive bacteria, penetrate the cell and multiply using its resources. As a result, cell death occurs and mature virulent phages are released, capable of infecting other sensitive bacterial cells. The staphylococcal bacteriophage does not affect other bacteria, in particular it does not disrupt the natural microflora.
Indications for use:
Liquid Staphylococcal Bacteriophage Spray is used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes, in the form of treatment of burns, purulent-inflammatory diseases, infected wounds, sore throat, staphylococcus- infected skin and mucous membranes. When using, hold the bottle vertically with the lid up and direct the sprayer towards the surface to be treated.
Treatment - surgical infections: purulent wound, burn, abscess, phlegmon, boil, carbuncle, hidradenitis, panaritium, paraproctitis, mastitis; - bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract: inflammation of the sinuses and middle ear, sore throat, pharyngitis, laryngitis; - acne; - purulent-inflammatory diseases of newborns (omphalitis, pyoderma).
Prevention - treatment of fresh wounds; - purulent complications during surgical manipulations and operations.
Administration and doses:
An important condition for effective phage therapy is the preliminary determination of the phage sensitivity of the causative agent of the disease (determination of the sensitivity to staphylococcal bacteriophage of strains isolated from the patient). The use of staphylococcal bacteriophage is most effective at the early stage of the disease, as well as its introduction into the very source of infection. Taking into account the localization of the source of infection, the drug liquid staphylococcal bacteriophage spray can be used:
locally - in the form of irrigations, rinses, applications, tampons, turundas.
When administered orally, the drug should be used 30-60 minutes before meals.
- For children under 11 years of age, it is recommended to treat the tonsils with a spray - 5 sprays, with an interval of 3 hours, 4-5 times a day.
For adults, 6-7 sprays, 6-7 times a day. -For the treatment of purulent-inflammatory diseases with local lesions, liquid staphylococcal bacteriophage spray is prescribed simultaneously both locally and for oral administration (per os). The dose of the drug and the amount sprayed are determined by the nature of the source of infection (the size of the affected area). The duration of treatment with the drug is from 5 to 10 days.
Side effects:
Non-toxic. No side effects were found. Allergic reactions may occur in sensitive patients.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Drug interactions:
Can be used in conjunction with drugs of any group. Special instructions Treatment with bacteriophage should be started as early as possible. Shake before use.
DO NOT USE IF THE DRUG SEEMS HAZY!
If chemical antiseptics were used to treat the wound before using the bacteriophage, the wound must be thoroughly washed with a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The product contains a nutrient medium in which bacteria from the environment can develop. Therefore, after using the spray, the sprayer should be treated with an alcohol solution. - the bottle must be stored in the refrigerator. The drug, subject to storage conditions and the absence of turbidity, can be used during the entire shelf life.
Use during pregnancy and lactation period:
The use of this drug during pregnancy and lactation period is possible in the presence of an infection caused by strains sensitive to the drug (on the recommendation of a doctor).
Overdose:
Data on overdose are not described.
